Aside from supporting the LOFAR Key Science Program, LOFAR IT acquires an additional 33 hours of observation per semester (per cycle) which can be used to directly sponsor particularly worthy submissions responding to various Call for Proposals.
Once obtained the list of proposals with the relative technical feasibility evaluation by the LOFAR Technical Panel, an ad hoc commission will suggest the 33 hours distribution.
